About Us
We're all about promoting what Oliver Wendell Holmes and Louis Brandeis
called "the marketplace of ideas."
We're committed to the proposition that
free expression and vigorous debate eventually produce the best result
for society - if and only if the debate includes everybody's ideas,
not just those that are acceptable to one group or another.
Because moderate and conservative ideas
are often given short shrift on campus, we're committed to making
sure those ideas get as much consideration as liberal and radical
ideas.
We invigorate the marketplace of ideas
by sponsoring debates, lectures, and study groups on important issues.
Most of our events are free and open to the public. We especially
welcome University of Minnesota undergraduate and graduate students,
no matter what your politics.
Sometimes we'll bribe you with pizza or other treats,
other times just with really smart people talking about really important
things.
