The Minnesota Association of Scholars is a non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Minnesota, and enjoys 501(c)3 tax status with the Internal Revenue Service. Accordingly, donations large and small are tax deductible on both state and federal tax returns. (Please check with your tax advisor for specific deductibility rules.)

We seek both general donations and donations earmarked for particular events or activities. General donations help advance our cause wherever the Board of Directors and Officers sees the greatest need. Earmarked donations support specific programs on the statewide level or perhaps in particular regions of the state or on particular campuses.

We welcome both corporate and individual donations: Corporate donations are an eye-catching way to convey your company’s support for the MAS philosophy. We envision, for example, the Distinguished [Corporate Name/MAS] Lecture Series, or simply the [Corporate Name] Debates.

Personal donations are a powerful way not only to advance the MAS cause but also to:

• Honor the memory of parents, grandparents, or other cherished people – even favorite professors!

• Draw attention to great thinkers from the past.

• Publicly declare your support for free speech and the “marketplace of ideas,” or your opposition to political correctness and indoctrination
